November 24, 2013
Well, we hit the 3 month mark this past week for the
mission! It came and went before we even
realized it.
This was a good week, steady but able to get things done
without stress. It is hard to believe
that Thanksgiving is almost here! We
have been invited to spend Thanksgiving with the Crawford’s, the couple that
trained us. They live here in San
Jose. Both of the office couples will be
there, plus the Bayshore Branch elders, and even some members of the Bayshore
Branch we learned today…..at least Sister Kim!
It finally cooled off enough that the past couple of weeks I
started wearing nylons as my legs were cold, and I take a sweater to work in
case it is too cool. It is usually
around 50 when we leave in the mornings, but most days still in the 60’s.
Christian turned 12 on Friday….so we face timed with him to
wish him a happy birthday from work, and walked around the office showing it to
them.
Saturday night, we went to Redwood City to a Spanish
ward…..Elder Barbosa had called us earlier in the week to ask us to be tamale
judges at their ward social. We did
that, ate dinner, and watched the entertainment. It took us about 45 minutes to get there, and
then another 45 to get back home.
Friday at work, Elders Bruggeman and Hullinger gave a
bouquet of flowers to me and one to Sister Clayton to thank us for all we do
for them! Such sweet boys! We have the opportunity to know so many sweet
missionaries! I am sure when this
mission is over we will get lots of visits! Elder B is from South Jordan,
Utah. Elder H is from Vancouver,
WA. I have been on the phone to both
sets of the missionaries parents for various things lately….Elder H hurt his
wrist; Elder B with BYU application questions and requests for his mom to take
care of. They are our Bayshore Branch
Elders, by the way, and live near us.
They have become our “boys”. They
call me grandma! Elder B is VERY
tall----I’d say at least 6’ 5”, or more.
This next week, we work Mon-Wed., Thurs we go to the
Crawfords, then Fri. we work again.
