Schedule

Everything in the mission revolves around transfers.....that is how time is measured.  Missionaries know how many transfers they have been here, and how many till they are released for instance.  So, I will now show how the time is divided out.   I will put numbers for the weeks, as the whole cycle includes 12 weeks, or 2 transfers.

1.  Transfer week:  Sunday, outgoing devotional for those leaving to speak....I love those meetings!!
Tuesday, transfer day.....those who are being transferred come to the mission office, at 10 am there is a meeting in the chapel, and first those who are leaving are mentioned, then new companionship's are announced, except for those getting one of the incoming missionaries, they don't know who they get till Thurs.  Tuesday afternoon, the ones leaving go to the temple with the Pres. and his wife.  That night, they have a special dinner and testimony meeting at the Mission Home (where the Pres. lives).  Wed., very early, they head to the airport and fly home.  The incoming missionaries are then picked up, and they spend a couple of hours on the campus of San Jose State, learning about meeting people and talking to them. In this mission, it is a non-proselyting mission, meaning they don't go door to door. They meet people on the street and get to know them and then they may have the opportunity to share the gospel with them.  They also teach by referrals.  That night, they stay either at the Mission Home or the AP's apartment, sleeping on the floor on air mattresses.  Thurs., they come to the office, where they get the orientation from us, then they get their new companions, and listen to instruction in the chapel by the AP's and the Pres.   Friday of transfer week is Advance Orientation from 9-3....it is for those who were new 6 weeks ago.

2.  nothing specific

3.  Either this week or the week following are Zone Conferences, from Tues. through Fri.   3 zones are combined for meetings each of those days.  Cars are inspected, talks are given.  During Zone conferences, I am the only one from the office who stays in the office to answer the phones....Oh, I forgot to mention the phones in my daily jobs!
4.  If zone conf. weren't last week, then this week.
5. nothing specific
6.  Transfer meetings--these are planned for Tues., Wed., and Thurs......the AP's, the Pres., meet with housing and cars, and they work on where everyone will be put for the next transfer.   On Sat., missionaries are notified if they are being transferred.  On Fri., those who will be new leaders....Zone Leaders, District Leaders, or trainers for new missionaries, come for training.  They don't get told what their new position is yet, till at the transfer time, but they get training.
7.  Transfer week again
8.  nothing specific
9.  The mission President (President Watkins) interviews all the missionaries during the next 2 weeks, on Tues., Wed., and Thurs.
10.  Interviews continued, Tues, Wed., Thurs.
11.  Nothing specific
12.  Transfer meetings again for the AP's etc.

Then, in this schedule are also Zone leader council meetings, every 4 weeks.  Also, before General Conference, the missionaries can go to the temple.

Zone meetings (different than zone conferences) are held once a month.
District meetings are held weekly.
